I have a USB display as well. Primarily I will use it for SSH sessions while my other three screens generally have an IDE/Text Editor (left), General Use (middle), email (right).
I don't game on my pcs, so it's used solely for work.
Some software has quirks with the displaylink drivers if...
I got this prescription pair mostly on a whim, and for long haul coding or admin sessions they really do help, even if they're just dimming the light from the screens (which I turn down a lot as well).
I already posted my home workstation that's still being worked on back on pg 1. Figured I'd toss in my workstation at work.
2x24" 1920x1200 lenovo monitors. Yes, my monitor shelf is being held up by four coffee cups. It's worked for over a year now. Doesn't look great, but it's...
Thanks for the info!
I'm just getting back into playing and considering rocksmith to help me build up my timing and chord transitions again. This build is really cool!
switch outputs each time it's pressed.
I'm using it in this manner:
I have a VOIP softphone and I'll hear the call ring over my speakers. I may want to quickly switch to my headphones (I use a microphone on my desk) to hear the other person or conference call.
I'm using a three way...
I'd like to build a little floor switch using a stomp switch like you'd find on some guitar pedals.
What I'd like it to do is for it to switch between one of two outputs.
So there would be one input, and two outputs. When the switch it pressed it would move between the two different...
Just got a bunch of new gear for christmas. Still need to clean the wires up. Will snap a pic and post it in a few!
Edit: Pic added.
I still need to tidy the wires and put some art on the wall.
New Additions:
2x 23" IPS Displays (center)
Studio Monitor Headphones
Flex Mount Ipad arm...
24" 1920X1080 Westinghouse on the left and a 20" Westinghouse LCD (was free) on the right using a monitor mount to hang them. Hoping the Mrs checked my wishlist for the two 24" IPS displays :)
My aeron was a gift from someone who couldnt fit it into their car when they were moving - at the time I was like, yeah cool, it looks neat with the mesh and all so I took it.
I later learned I was given a throne of computing.
I'm looking at carpeting options for my work area and trying to...
I don't PC game either, so don't feel bad. My tower is a linux server box that gets used for a variety of things.
I'm working on the room and my workstation as a whole, but here's the latest shot:
Rewired the electrical in the room this past weekend, and got primer on the walls.
Added an IKEA lamp to the setup as well, it's working nicely and now that the electrical is correct I don't have to have cords strewn all over the floor. Pics forthcoming.
Until you run into the goofball that spurts out somethign like "I clipped the cables because I couldn't get the ceiling tile in"
It's happened to me before.
You don't have to buy a whole 1000ft box.
Either:
1. Go to home depot or lowes and see if they have cat6, if not cat5e could probably suffice, they sell it by the foot.
2. Electrical supply places (graybar etc) will sometime sell the stuff by the foot too.
Throwing a couple jacks on...
I use two machines at home. One is my linux server, the other is my work laptop.
I'm a linux guy, so even if im on a windows box I usually just remote to my nix machine.
I use my tablet for most everything else.
I need to take some better pictures but here's my current (in progress)...
Cut the posts last night. Measured up between the second and third holes up from the desktop and started to cut them with my hacksaw. My hacksuck...I mean saw wasn't getting it done, so I did it with a sawzall after clamping a straigt edge to the post as a guide.
A tip for anyone else who...
Figured I'd keep a worklog for my workstation update that I plan to work on over the holidays this year.
I have an IKEA Jerker that has been great. I've been using the shelf to hold my monitors so I can slide the keyboard under them when I'm working on notes or on a conference call and I need...
I've seen those, all the Jerker's I can find on CL locally all have the posts though (and I usually find Jerkers just on the description alone, most folks don't list them around here as "Jerker")
I just thought of cutting it neatly with a hacksaw/sawzall using a guide so the cuts would be...
I'm considering cutting the vertical posts off past the desktop on my Jerker...Might leave one extra set of holes/adjustment so I could bolt them back together If I wanted to.
I just got a dual monitor mount (and getting another for Christmas - 4 monitors) and I think the arms are going to...
Anything that you learn from is worth your time, that goes for mistakes too. I learn just as much from the wrong way I've done something as I do learning the right way from the get go.
By FM do you mean file manager?
Coming from the linux side, that probably means something different to me than it does to you.
I'm going to guess you need an FTP/SFTP tool.
In that case winscp and filezilla are both excellent and free. From a simplicity standpoint using winscp with a...
The question is a bit simple, but...don't even put them into the array that you're using to create a table in the first place or put in a conditional to only take items at aren't zero?
Do you have an example of your code?
Maybe something like this would help the concept come across
<?php...
I pulled the no-conflict out of each of them...and made them all use $ instead of naming a variable and they all work now.
I must have missed something when I thought I tried that before.
Thanks everyone for the help and explanations!
I'm very new to jquery and javascript in general. I'm trying to add functionality to a page I'm working on. I've got standard jquery UI elements, a "nyroModal" box and a customer date/time picker. I can usually get one item to work, but not all three.
I did some research and have been trying...
I use my ipad2 for everything in regards to browsing, time killer games, email, and reading books.
I've read 92 books on my ipad this year so far, trying to make it to 100.
Hey all!
I've taken on a little project for myself and came up with some of how I want to handle it and just wanted to run the concept as a whole past some other technical folks before going too much down a bad path.
Need:
Web based viewer for text files. Only a few of us actually have access...
