I ordered C&C: Renegade yesterday with 2-day delivery and it skipped overnight and showed up at my place this morning (like 12:00) while I was at work. I didn't think FedEx would deliver early like that. Well, this is really sweet, because I've wanted to play that game for so long (and I...
It's a good question to ask for SLI purposes: are there 6800 Ultras with single-slot cooling solutions? Watercooling might be able to cut it, depending on the block, but I mean stock, air cooling solutions?
all right, let me ask this in a more straightforward manner:
Enermax 550W or Antec Neopower ?

The Newpower seems really...
So I'm reading that the 2 rail system for PSUs is the new ATX standard, right? Why are 2 rails so important? I get the gist that one supplies the motherboard, but does is only supply the mobo, or does it also connect to other devices? And how can you tell which leads connect to which rail on...
something in my computer doesn't feel quite right when i fire up my games these days. so i'm running Morrowind 1024x768, no aa/af (don't even know of Morrowind supports it), no shadows, about 1/3 <-> 1/4 of max view distance. i'm finding that the game feel unusually sluggish, pausing often and...
so unfortunately i'm leaving for the evening right now, but here's something i ran into at my local microcenter:
6800 128mb, etc (the "NU") - about $300
9800 xt 256mb, etc - about $450
when i asked the salesguy, he tells me that it's because of the extra memory. don't give me that, it...
It'll be time for the next gen . I suppose I'm not thoroughly disappointed that I won't have a 9800 GT for my rig, but it's really annoying right now to have a beautifully fast machine (compared to my 1.4 Tbird, at least) and a pitiful graphics card. I mean, this thing runs about as...
So I've heard a number of things from folks about unpacking the pk4 files; conflicting stories have told about increases and descreases in load times and in-game performance. Does anyone have a good idea of why it seems to vary system-to-system as to who it helps and who it hurts?
I mean, do they even exist? I know that there are 5900 coolers out there, but the card I have is like a rearranged 5900, so if the coolers are designed to fit a 5900's components and whatnot, they won't sit well at all on this thing: the GPU is pushed back, the capacitors are way forward, etc...
As the title suggests, how necessary is it to add extra cooling to my card when O/C-ing it? It's a Gigabyte PCX 5900, which implies that it basically comes with a cheap aluminum gpu heatsink/fan and nothing on the memory. Should I be adding little aluminum ramsinks and upgrading the CPU cooling...
I've got a quick question regarding power supply quality and life expectancy, the new 24-pin motherboard connectors, and some other general paranoia that has no proper title.
I've managed to burn through 2 power supplies in the past 6 days, each dying after a 3-day usage period.
The first...
