Its most likely your PSU. 1200 gold is cutting it close with more then 2. Assuming each card can draw up to 375 watt at full load. There is a reason all the good +1200 watt platinum PSU are out of stock or over priced....
I am looking at my options now to switch carriers (AT&T) but want unlimited data priced right for two lines (pay my GFs phone as well). Nexus looks great, but it does not have LTE. LTE is a big selling point since the whole region over here is basically covered by LTE.
Have a I5-2500k coming in on Monday. Received the Mobo, ASRock P67 PRO3 SE and Memory, G.SKILL Ripjaws 8GB (2x4) DDR3 1333. Got a great deal on the H50, best buy is selling it with in store pickup for $50+tax.
WTS the following items, decided its time to upgrade. Everything is in good working condition.
CPU: Intel Q6600 GO stepping, Strong overclocker. SOLD
Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3L SOLD
Memory: Patriot PDC22G6400LLK, 4x1GB.SOLD
I would get a Q6600, it will give your system another 2 years of decent performance for gaming and other tasks. I am still using an Q6600 oced to 3.3ghz, I have yet to find a reason to switch. None of the games out currently really push my CPU that much. I am patiently waiting for an 8 core CPU...
The gaming industry is increasingly trying to squeeze as much out of the gamers pockets as they can. At this point they are just alienating their core customers. It was not our choice that they game developers an d publishers decided to spend millions on advertising and glitzy content (like paid...
Maps and dumbed down models are due to the dual development process from the xbox360. I dont worry about that stuff though because user made maps and mods should fill in the void.
The demo has great graphics and the new engine runs very smooth. I think the reason why most people are complaining is because the demo has no multiplayer support. I could care less about the single player game and so do most people who play RTS games.
As for the generic feeling (this was what...
If graphics were not a big deal people still would be playing games with mario bros graphics. The people care a lot about graphics its the console makers that are holding it back.
When you upgrade your video card though you gain improved performance and visuals that the console can't touch. Since all the games are console ports anyway I can buy a $50 video card (GT 220) and run the same console port game at better settings then the console. I don't need to upgrade my...
I am just posting this to get a feel of what other gamers think of the console graphics right now?
Do you think they are fine for a while, or will be outdated this year or sometime in the future?
Do you think that consoles are beneficial to the gaming market or lagging the technology...
Yeah steam is so convenient its ridiculous. I know lots of people who buy the same game over again on steam just because they do not want to hassle with the CD keys, the juggling of DVD/CDs, and want to play the game anywhere on any computer.
I am just waiting for the prices to drop now. Asus UL80, UL30, and even ASUS Eee PC 1201N are there for what I want already. I am sure toward the end of the year we will see a UL30 type laptop/netbook selling for $400-500 range.
The future is looking good for small laptop/netbooks with ample graphics power for a good price. The new ASUS Eee PC 1201N can actually run some newer game titles with frame rates close to 30fps. There is also things like the ASUS UL80Vt-A1 which is a little step up in size (but big gain in...
I think netbook prices are not that bad. Sure they saw a little bump up in price, it was mainly started around back to school (about sept.) it then continued through the holiday season (since it was a good selling point for a computer as a holiday gift).
Since the market is getting saturated...
Great choice on laptop. I still am using my Asus s96 from 2006. It can run Left 4 Dead 2 and most newer games on low settings. Its a great laptop and workhorse build quality is top notch. My girl friends gateway laptop was bought around the same time and is used 1/15 the amount I use my laptop...
You hit the head on the nail with what you said. This is the reason why I will stay away from any low power IGP notebook/netbook. When I purchase a notebook/netbook I expect at least 3-4 years of use from it. Not having a robust graphics processor is a big mistake; Movies, Youtube, Flash, Games...
Someone forgot to add Star Wars: The Old Republic to the list. MMORPG PC exclusive coming out sometime in 2010. http://www.swtor.com/
It looks like it has the potential to become a great mmorpg.
I have a dedicated graphics card in this 4 year old laptop. Thank god I opted to get it because I would be unable to watch movies full screen or just hulu full screen without lag. Not to mention I can run Left 4 Dead 2 perfectly fine :).
I am seriously considering getting a netbook but holding...
Makes you wonder what the heck blizzard been doing with all that cash and time they have. So long since a major release and nothing to show for it yet besides teasers and WoW updates every so often.
I will be disappointed with anything less then a state of the art RTS engine something like...
I would limit the map rotation to like 5-6 well picked maps. Perhaps 2 non official maps and 3-4 official. Also I would space out the none official with official.
If the game is made well and priced right it will discourage pirating. They should just get on with it and make all PC games digital distribution only and price them at $30 or under. Going full digital reduces costs for the gaming studio since they don't need to split profits with a crappy...
I do just about the same thing myself. I was thinking about the future of gaming and PC gaming a lot lately. The main issue with exclusive PC game titles was from the game makers complaining of rampant piracy. Well piracy can be taken care of with the use of sole digital distribution. Without a...
I didnt include the display because you need to purchase one as well for a console... It only takes one $200 video card to surpass or meet the console graphics anway.
Wait about a year after a game release and buy it on the PC. I just bought Grand Theft Auto 4 for the PC for $7.50 from steam.
The argument I have heard of consoles being a cheaper alternative... not really in the long run. I pay $1000 for the PC that I use for everything and only occasionally...
I want to see the PC gaming is dead fanboys come out after Blizzard releases; D3 and Starcraft 2. Any of those games will have higher sales numbers then any new console game.
PC gaming will live on. Especially for multiplayer games that require authenticating to play. We will have less publishers and game studios focusing on PC. However those that make top notch games and stick with it will profit handsomely. Just take a look at valve and blizzard.
I believe we are...
