Question: where to go from here?

This was one night of OC experience and I am stil wondering waht happened but it seems mighty stable at 3,24 GHz (360x9).

I had some bad cooling experience with the standard Intel E6600 Cooler read:

Intel's E6600 Heatsink Factory Failure & a Solution!

Pitty I didn't have the time to fix it because I gladly would have tested it.

I think the Intel's are capable of sustaining more heat I hit the 80-85 accidently and I am still in business so I think when I hit 65 max stable temp in ORTHOS after 10 min or so I am not dissapointed it can have this kinda temps.

After a bad OC when the comp fails to start (P5B-DL) I only have to switch of the main power (Not removing any batteries or so) to be back in business and enter the BIOS to change the settings.

I am a very Noobish overclocker and what I did (Strictly on my own risk) was higher every Voltage I could find Including NB SB.

Than I increased the clock till I hit 360 and than I lowered the voltages until it got unstable in ORTHOS than raised only the CPU Core Voltage and Voila!

I noticed that increasing the Voltages on the CPU doesn't influence the Temps too much until you reach a certain flippoint it seems?

That's realy alll I did I am wondering what else is possible?

I still think that this is not the end my friend.....there must be more to OC or am I wrong?

Gimmi some mailpop here...

Pitty that the nobody now something? I got some private message reply...to mess with the Volts of the Vcore so that's waht I did.

So I messed around with the Volts on the Vcore not to my dissapointment I must say.

Very stable....30 Min ORTHOS should do the trick. Nice PI 1M seconds.....not bad at all.

I think 3,6 Ghz with Aircooling (Scyth Infinity) is not something to be ashamed of......still wondering if the Scyth is realy doing it's Job?

Can another Aircooler do better? I just don't know for now.

So on full LOAD 30 min on ORTHOS it reaches 65 Celsius and stays there for houers if it has to.....45 Celsius IDLE... I can live with that.

Aircooling Record 4,0 GHz .

Myself 3,6 GHz fully stable on the Scyth Infinity. Just over 14 sec on 1M PI.

But over 5,0 GHz is possible on the Conroe.

I found the PI 1M record which is just under 10 sec:

But this has been done under special cooling conditions and on just one core to get more stability.

Sofar so good....

3,33 GHz - CPU 1,3500v In BIOS setting - max. temp CPU load: 41 Celsius in Probe II Idle: 21 Celsius in Probe II
Fully stable after 12 min ORTHOS

3,51 GHz - CPU 1,4125v In Bios setting - max. temp CPU load: 43 Celsius Idle: 23 Celsius in Probe II
Fully stable after 16 min ORTHOS

I am astonished by the low temps I have now even at 3,51 GHz and 1,41 BIOS Volts.

The second 12 cm Fan I added to the Scyth Infinity did a lot.
