Just got Samsung 910T.. couldn't wait for 193P+.
So far so good, haven't noticed anything bad yet.. got it cheap too, wasn't much more than wat i paid for Hyundai L90D+ and i think its much better in everyway except for the response time, but i can live with that. I don't think i'll ever buy TN panel again.

edit:
actually colors aren't good as 193T. :( and movies look better on 193T. :(

that monitor looks identical to the one i just bought.. what is the difference between 910T and the 930b?

There is a big difference. The 930B is a TN panel just like the L90D+. The 910T is far superior at everything except for the response time.

Well, gaming is not everyone's priority. Some people are willing to sacrifice the response time for more accurate colors, better viewing angles and better contrast.

Not all TN panel monitors are same even if they use the same panel. I've used Hyundai L90D+ and Samsung 172X and imho 172X way better in terms of color quality, back light leakage, viewing angle, easy on eyes. If you look at 8ms 19" review at Tomshardware, Samsung 913N and Hyundai L90D+ have same panel but colors and viewing angles are better on 913N. I'm sure 930B is a decent overal monitor, great for gaming. I could live with 172X (n prob 913N or 930B) but not with L90D+. (i think ppl with bad eye sight can't tell cos guy who bought mine def had bad eye sight.)

I'll have to do bit more "testing" but I think 193T is better than 910T.
I was bit worried before buying 910T cos it was thicker and heavyer than 193T according to the reviews/specs but i would have been happy as long as color/image quality is good as 193T. I thought 910T would be identical or better since they use same panel(or upgraded), and built by same manufacturer. But after using for a day, i don't think its good as 193T. Maybe Samsung used cheaper parts in 910T to save $$?? 193T came in a nice blue color box (has photos of the monitor all around the box) but 910T came in a light brown OEM box (one drawing of the monitor on the top) similar to Hyundai L90D+ box.

There are bit too much red, noticeable in movies. (similar problem to L90D+, but its adjustable on 910T) I left the RGB at default 50% atm, but i think i'll have to play with it. I never had need to change RGB or use the Samsung magictune software on 193T. 193T is set at 30/50 brightness/contrast, i've set 910T at 30/60 but it looks bit dark in movies, and if i increase the brightness/contrast it would start get bit too bright for white page/black font. And 193T seem to be bit easier on eyes than 910T, but maybe cos i'm used it.

If it's the same panel inside, the viewing angles will be the same! I wouldn't trust a benchmark that says otherwise.

True. Two monitors using the same panel can have different response time and color reproduction but their viewing angles are always the same. That depends solely on the panel.

Hyundai L90D+ - 150/135 (Samsung 19" TN LTM190EX-L01)

Samsung 913N - 160/160 (Samsung 19" TN LTM190EX-L01)

edit:
is there anyway to check which panel i have on my monitor? i.e. by pressing keys - like on dell monitors. http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=889901 - i tried on but didn't work on Samsungs.

According to this page, http://forum.ixbt.com/0028/015144.html - 910T has PVA LTM190E1-L03, but i think 193T might have same panel as 193P (PVA LTM190E4-L02) cos 193T seem to have better colors n faster response time than the 910T.

edit2:
I forgot that Samsung LCDs had Magicbright function.. doh. it seems to work well on 910T. Default Text/Internet/Entertainment on 910T is 35/80, 63/80, 85/80 and 193T is 30/50, 54/50, 95/60. 910T seems to be bit easier on eyes using Magicbright settings but 193T looks clearer overall. 910T has higher contrast and colors looks more vibrant than the 193T, but darker look bit too dark. I was playing "girl next door" on both screens to compare them, the scene near the end (1:38) where the guy puts the video into the player, i can clearly see the buttons on the vcr on 193T but i can barely see them on 910T cos the black buttons are blended into the black vcr. Black looks really black (not like dark grey on L90D+) but it doesn't seem to display different shades of dark colors too well. :(

Farcry looks great even on Internet(63/80) setting on 910T, but its very hard to see things in Doom3 cos everything is just dark, even when its set on Entertainment(85/80). :(

Where does it say the 913N has better viewing angles than the L90D+ apart from the specs? They are exactly the same but measured differently. Samsung uses a contrast ratio drop to 5:1 while Hyundai uses 10:1. In practice, viewing angles are the same as they should be.

Have you tried calibrating your 910T at least with the software that comes with Samsung monitors (natural color or whatever it's called)? The 910T should have a really good color reproduction and better reproduction of darker colors than most monitors.

Samsungs monitors do have wider viewing angles using same panel at least according to the specs. And from my experince with 172X and L90D+, 172X definately had the better viewing angle. I know 172X and L90D+ don't use same panel, but 913N has same panel as L90D+ and 913N has better viewing angle than the 172X.
913N - 160/160 (H/V)
L90D+ - 150/135
172X - 160/140

Specs don't mean anything if they aren't measured the same way. The viewing angle value is the angle at which the contrast on the center of the screen drops to 10:1. Unable to widen the viewing angles of their TN panels, some manufacturers (like Samsung) started using the contrast ratio drop to 5:1 instead of usual 10:1 and there you go - you have wider viewing angles but only on paper. In practice they are exactly the same. Not all TN monitors have the same viewing angles of course but two monitors with the same panel will have the same viewing angles. It's just another LCD spec that has lost it's meaning. I mean, who the hell wants to know the angle at which the contrast ratio drops to 5:1?

I've used 172X and L90D+ n 172X had noticeably better viewing angles than L90D+.

anyway I have 3 minor issues with 910T.
1. not as easy on eyes as 193T.
2. darker colors are hard to differensiate.
3. slower response time than 193T. (can notice it when scrolling black fonts on white background but very noticeable on black fonts/blue background). luckily games aren't that bad, seems to be faster than 193T in games, but i'm gonna run same games on two monitors and compare later..

Um yes, but the 172X has a completely different panel. Samsung has no better viewing angles than other manufacturers that use the same panel. It's all marketing.
