Hi,
I'm moving to a Cooler Master Stacker 830 case for my water cooling rig which supports 140mm fans. I'm trying to track down a good place to buy 140mm fans that are silent and allow a wide range of operating voltages to control them from my Aquaero fan controller.
I've done a bit of research that I'll share but if anyone has anything to add, please let me know.
There are three companies that appear to make 140mm fans that can be purchased online:
1. Aerocool: (http://www.aerocool.us/p-accessory/strameliner/streamliner.htm)
Nice looking, but suspect noise specs. Also the operating voltage is very limited (apparently they won't start under 10V). I'd be interested in knowing if after they start, if they will slow down to say 7V or 5V... anyone? It's key for me to be able to control the fans with a fan controller.
2. Yate Loon: (http://www.yateloon.com/style/conte...tomer_id=1356&name_id=31277&rid=8511&id=38839)
They have three models... the SL is the silent low speed model. Apparently good voltage range and low noise. Availability? Can someone help out here? This German ebay seller has the medium and high versions: http://stores.ebay.de/silencio-777_W0QQcolZ4QQdirZQ2d1QQfsubZ0QQftidZ2QQtZkm
3. Sharkoon: (http://www.sharkoon.com/enghtml/fans_system.htm)
They have three models as well. I have inquired about availability here in NA. CrazyPC sells the high speed version only (http://www.crazypc.com/products/fans/140mmfans.htm).
This French company has an English version of their site and they sell the products but are currently back-ordered (http://www.pc-look.com/boutik/product_info.php?products_id=4344&referer=PrixMateriel)
Does anyone know of any other sources for the Sharkoon or Yates fans?
Can anyone comment on the lowest operating voltage for these various fans?
Thanks!
