$1500 Machine

My friend wants me to build him a machine for BF2. I'm trying to keep it under $1500 and this is including a monitor. Please post your opinions/suggestions on it. Thanks.

ya but if u shop aronund u prob could get a nice x2 sys with a 7900gt for around 1500

You know, In my mind, people should stop trying to get x2's when there are dualcore optys.

That build looks really good, but I'll make a suggestion:

Trade out the 3500+ and pop in a 3200+ Venice to save $50, then put the savings of the $1500 budget into getting a 7900GT.

Either way, you've made a nice system there.

looks good but you can get better ram for that price or a few dollars more. This G. Skill kit that everyone is recommending as well as other 2GB kits by Mushkin, Corsair etc. that isnt value. Since you are going with the cheaper processor you should overclock and the RAM will help.

you can regularly find 250gb hard drives for around $90. is there a particular reason you'd rather spend $20 less for half the space?
