I'm looking to add the 17" MBP so that I have something Mac+transportable. Would appreciate people who have recieved them commenting on whether they're getting the heat and whine problems which some have attributed to the 15" MBP's. I'll be probably ordering in a couple of weeks if all is well.

17" MBP received? Any problems?

Heat is not a problem. System gets warm just like any other aluminam apple notebook, nothing extreme. Whine is not present at all when on battery power, but just barely every once and a while u may hear it when plugged in. Battery life is excellent.

No problems so far here. Working very well in Mac OS and XP. One little problem was I couldn't use my MSDN ISO of Windows XP or my MSDN DVD to install XP it took a full Retail CD.
