Hey, I've been debating what to do for the past 2 days.
I'm installing a Seagate 200 gig hard drive on this system:
GigaByte GA-7VT600 1394
AMD XP 1800+ (1.53 ghz) with stock HSF
nVidia GeForce4 Ti4200 128 MB
Crucial 2x256 MB pc2100 RAM
Samsung 52X CD-Rom (not burner)
Floppy
Windows 2000 SP3
I will probably buy a NEC dvd burner from NewEgg for it sometime in the near future, but for now, it's just going to be a cd-rom. I want to make images of games so I can run them off of Daemon Tools and Alcohol 120% instead of having to haul around CDs all the time. I also might want to make a partition for backup data of My Documents just incase the main partition fails.
I was thinking:
80 gig System partition
15 gig Document backup partition
40 gig CD Image partition
65 gig Movie / Storage partition
All of these will be NTFS.
Can you offer comments, suggestions, or maybe other ideas for partitioning strategies?
Thanks a lot.
