I'm an owner of the Viewsonic VP191b, no need to say that i am more than happy with this product's qulaity, but i need a larger screen now

i rather prefer to buy the viewsonic, but i have read several positive feedbacks on the Philip's monitor

another issue, i'm low on money so : ) please give me your best ideas here based on personal situations if possible

thanks a lot! - and i have to decide within 48hrs too () : )

Without looking into it more:

Avoid the viewsonic. It is MVA panel. The other 3 are S-IPS. S-IPS is the best panel type.

Of the other 3. Consider the HP if you need lots of input types and consider the Sony/Philips if you don't need the inputs and want a newer panel which may have slightly improved visual performance.

seems like you can get a dell or acer 24" for same or less money. have you considered those?

I wouldnt get the Acer nor the Dell at this time. The input lag problem happens all too frequently for gaming or full motion video.

The viewsonic has great color but the response times are mediocre and in practice give some ghosting and smearing with full motion video and some games as well.

The philips panels are the sweet spot here, with my nod going to the Philips Brilliance for the best panel of the bunch. It has faster response times (12ms bwb, 8ms gtg) than the sony or HP, althoguh if you need the features of the HP its a solid panel.

Good luck and happy choosing!

PS: Check the pixel waranties from each company too. I know that Philips just changed their large panel policy which now replaces with 3 pixels anywhere, 2 pixels adjacent, and two pixels stuck on a color (i.e. not black or white).

yep considered them too, but currently th dell 2407fpw is highly overpriced in my area, and regarding the acer model, i heard about a lot of lag issues

another question anybody konws some european stores which sell really cheap?

My 23" CRT is dying and I've spent many weeks researching everything in the 20" widescreen and larger LCD market... and when all is said and done I now have the Philips on order. I would have preferred a 24", but there's just no 24" I would honestly consider.

My second choice would have been the HP L2335, but since I don't need multimedia inputs I'd much rather have the Philips' newer generation panel. But I'll still likely upgrade to a 26" S-IPS whenever someone brings one out.
