24/48GB DDR5

What's the deal with the 24 and 48GB DDR5 sticks I'm seeing on Newegg? Do I need anything special to use them?

Just manufacturers being goofy and breaking the 2^N capacity standard for a middleground between 16gb and 32gb

I remember when the standard was 4^N. 128mb was the first "half step" DRAM.

Thanks everyone, I'll update the BIOS and give em a try.

You can now max out at 192GB vs. 128GB which can be useful in some circumstances.
