so what SSD for $45 do you recommend? hmmm?

What are the 4k iops on this thing? I'd guess around 1200....which should still be 4x a good sas drive...

Great deal OP!

Some people put way to much thought into transfer rates on ssds. The super low access time is what makes them feel so much faster.

If i wasn't buying a house I would pick up a few for boot drives on all my pcs. Good find op

faiz23> Thanks for the benchmarks. I've been wondering about the kingston v/v+ for a while.

no issues man i have my kingston and it is a big big upgrade from a HDD but when you compare those 4k speeds of the kingston to the OCZ...ummm yeah no comparison. I got the Kingston to get my feet wet on SSD and i fell in love at first sight and wanted more.

i found couple good deals one was the member on the board who is really cool and one is ebay. I got a phoneix pro 60gb using sandforce controller with 50k iops for $95 with mr rebates cashback and ebay bucks.

Edit:

Couple more benchmarks the value advertised by OCZ is when using UNcompressed data and then sandforce controller compress the data to get the speeds shown. In real life it will be a mix of data some compressed and some UNcompressed. Here is ATTO which is showing the advertized but AS ssd benchmark which uses a mix of data. Expect to see different results using different tests.

This ATTO is with no tweaks i will post up a tweaked drive later
