Ok, doing a bit of overclocking and used 3dmark01 to test my stability, and something is weird here. I'll post scores from my last system and scores I got on this system: First the stats:
Old system:
AMD 1800+ Palomino @ 150x11.5
Abit KT7A Raid
PNY GF4 Ti4200
512 Crucial PC2700 memory
Maxtor 40gig ata100 7200rpm
New System:
AMD 2500+ Barton @ 210 x 11
Shuttle AN35N Ultra 400
Geil 512 PC3500
GenXCube Radeon 9600 XT
WD 120gig SATA 7200rpm
So, the new system is decidedly faster than the old right? Check out these scores:
Old System: 11420
New System: 10609
What the hell gives? I notice a huge increase in all my games, hell I can run D3 at high detail with smooth action. So why is 3dmark so dumb? I know it sucks for benchmarking, but still, to say my new system is worse than my old? Is this normal?
