Been playing around with this new 4400+ I got today.

Temps seem more than fine 30C idle and 40C full load both cores. Even with O/C'ing max temp I've seen is 44C. I'm using an XP-120 with high volume Panaflo.

My 8xn-sli has bios version 1005. Anyone have a better experience with other bios's?

What are some tips for OC'ing with this mobo. I lowered the HTT to 3x and ram to 5:6 divider to find the max OC for the cpu.

2585 @ 1.5v seems pretty stable. 2600 would fail dual prime 95

I'm currently testing @ 2600 (10x260) with 1.55v
11 mulitplier @ 2600 failed after 8 minutes...

Even when I select 1.55v cpu-z is reporting 1.520 but it can go to 1.536 and 1.504 I even it seen it dip to 1.488. Is this normal? I have a OCZ-520,

Thanks for the quick reply. I've read a few guides here and there which one is yours?

I'm running the ram @ 5:6 and HTT @ 3x to rule out any issue's with it. I noticed a chipset voltage option in the bios and an HTT voltage too any one got any experience raising those?

Latest bios is 1006, 1007 is a beta and I don't feel too good about beta bios's.

Btw is 1.55v too much for an x2? I got the temps up to 46-47C now.

I guess I should of done a bit more research before buying this mobo. Or maybe I just hit the cpu's max... I would of liked to hit 2.7~

I can raise the 1.5v on my OCZ-520 what are your thoughts on doing that :D

Testing [email protected] right now. Dual prime95 stable for about 15 minutes.

Edit:

The XP-120 really surprised me. I've always used stock cooling. This thing is huge. Looks a freakin radiator but the temps are amazing. 40C full load dual prime @ stock is pretty amazing.

I'm itching to flash the bios.

nah, the mobo is doing pretty well. 2.7ghz might be a touch of a stretch though. just keep pushing until you have found an acceptable limit. :D

I'll post my cpu info in your sticky when I find a stable OC.

I got 9002 3dmark05 which is more than I expected. No tweaking too. 2nd 7800GTX should arrive on Monday :D Then the real fun begins. I'm holding off on gaming until it arrives. Anyhow finding a good overclock is a full time job.

7800 GTX @ 500/1385

I hope the other BFG overclocks this well. I'm tempted to put AS5 on it. When I did that to my 6800 Ultra I went from 440/1180 to 485/1300. Those things have so many freakin screws I'm always afraid I'll break something.

1.5375v seems to be working better than 1.55v. 2588mhz failed after 9 minutes dual prime. I let it run for 20 minutes without any errors at 1.5375v. Trying for 2600mhz right now.

I don't need it dual prime 95 stable for 24 hours like some people like to have. I don't fold and rarely game for more than a 2-3 hours at a time.

*recalls installing maze4 on 6800gt*

yeah.. it's scary. good luck with it man :D

though.. it's curious that less voltage is doing a bit better. i guess your cpu is overly sensitive to temps

Yeah it doesn't make much sense, I'll test again @ 1.55v.

2600 failed after 10 minutes. It's funny how one prime95 fails and the other keeps going...

Btw I'm using clockgen to overclock is that holding me back or messing with my results? Using bios for voltage.

Edit: When I set it to 1.55v cpu-z reports it at 1.520 without any load. That seems werid to me. One more test @ 1.55 then I flash to 1006 bios.
