4870x2 VGA cooling solution

My memories are running quite hot and I found a way that will lower the temps by putting some of these http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835118220

Now the question is which way is the best solution to run it cool?

I was planning on doing the same to my 4870x2 with spare heatsinks I have laying around. I think plate+heatsink method works best since the plate also acts as a big heatsink. The only way to know for sure is to try them both and monitor the temps.
