5.1 sound streaming through 360?

Finally got my subwoofer bought and hooked up, sounds great, just want to figure out how to get 5.1 sound through my xbox. with games it works fine, but when i try to stream my music through media player or youtube music videos it just plays stereo sound.

any ideas?
 
denon avr-1909 receiver. energy s10 subwoofer. av123 elt525 5 piece surround (2 tower, 2 shelf, 1 center). hooked up through hdmi through panasonic tv
 
technically, the subwoofer shouldnt come on during 2ch audio because your front two speakers are full range.....

if you want it to anyway, try putting the subwoofer mode on LFE+Main.

if you want to have 2ch sources upsampled to 5.1, you need to push an effect button on your denon. something like music surround.
