500gb single platter drive?

I know that Hitachi, WD and Samsung have 500gb platters in there bigger drives but does anyone offer a 500gb drive with a single platter yet?

The Seagate 7200.12 and Samsung Spinpoint F3 are two single platter 500gb drives.
There are a few more but I don't feel like searching, I am sure WD has a few.

Nothing in the spec's about the number of platters, and segate's not really an option with there quality control issues as of late.
edit: confirmed the samsung as a single platter, think il grab a paire the next time there on sale.

Well I've been running two 500gb 7200.12 drives in Raid-0 for over a year now, as my boot drives until I got this SSD last week so... YMMV I guess.

i had two 7200.12 500GB single platters, they both died on me.

7200.12 or Samsung F3

The F3s are a bit hard to come by at a good price, ebay is your best bet usually. Amazon has them but they are overpriced at around $67 (you can usually pick them up for $55 on ebay).

The F3s are the fastest 7200rpm drives out there right now.

the model i have. nice and quick. last time i look it was one of the fastest 7200rpm drive.

But a few people on this forum had issue. I didn't but i love it! light compare to all my other drive too.
