alright, while tinkering last night, i was looking at my crucial ballistix, and realized that it was 1 sided! meaning that yes, it uses -5b D. and heres where i need you guys.

look at your ballistix.

what does your sticker say? mine has -5b D in them, which is used in the 1gig stick of ballistix.

thanks for your time folks. this is really weird and id like to get to the bottom of it.

both of my sticks are .16TG for double sided 5b G, but it says on the bag, not the heatspreader like yours

now.. i know that people complain about the variations of how much the ballistix overclock all the time. this would explain why
