Hey all,

I just got an XFX 6600 PCIe card. It has a molex connector on board. The manual says nothing about it. I'm trying to keep my case cabling tidy. Do I *have* to hook this up? I'm not running SLI, just this single card.

Thanks,
BoB

...just read the manual too. It doesn't say. I'd say if there's a plug on the board, you should use it. I can't imagine why it would be there for no reason, sounds like a waste of manufacturing cost.

Before I deleted what I said, I realized I did have some advice. I've heard of people running 6 series cards without power - the only effect it had apparently made was a drop in performance.

I just got the card. FWIW, it doesn't even work unless you plug in the molex. :( I'm trying to make my case wiring very neat/anal. I now need to get or make a 3 foot, 4-pin, power extension. Know of where I could get one without having to make it?
