I am looking for a new mobo so that i can oc my cpu. I have a e6600 and have never oced it. I need a recommendation on a mobo. I was looking at the DFI mobo but it is dual 8x slots rather than x16. any suggestions?
The DFI board you are talking about, I assume is the JR P45-T2RS. The build I did for my little brother with that board cranked an e5200 to 4GHz without breaking a sweat. He's now running an XFX 4850 on it and has zero compliants, well other than the placement of the audio header.
The x8 shouldn't affect much of anything. 2.0 has what, double the bandwidth, of pci-e, so you should be fine. The 4850 seemed perfectly happy and was quite fast in that system.
