7800gtx or 7900gt

Im in the market for a new video card so those are the two contenders. Please give me some in put so I can make the right decision. THanks

It is a very close race. The 7900GT is generally cheaper and has far better overclocking potential. As far as I've seen, the 7800GTX 512 still outperforms it in many instances at stock settings, but the 7900GT outdoes it easily when mildly OCed.

7800GTX = 7900GT
7800GTX 512 = 7900GTX

If you have either one, upgrade isnt really an necessity. If you have neither, get the one on the left. the 79 are 90nm so run cooler, a little faster than its counter part, and OC like crazy. Oh and 90 are cheaper.

7900GTX > 7800GTX > 7900GT > 7800 GT

Personally, since you apparently are on a budget, I'd get the 7900GT because the performance is close and is ~$150 less than the 7800GTX.

7900 GT is definately priced better and like was said earlier it OC's better too. So the 7900 GT has my vote.
