7900GTX temp's?

My GTX keeps locking up and artifacting, so I am starting to wonder if it is over heating.


The temp's are:

38 c Idle
about 58-63 c Load.

Are these ok?

Those temps are fine. Mine runs in the upper 60's with the overclock I run. The memory on the card might be failing. Are you running stock clocks?

absolutely fine, my 7900gt loads at low 70's when running titan quest, that's with stock cooling, stock volt and overclocked to 500ish.

Yeah stock clock's of 650/800, I think this turd's a lost cause.

Try cleaning dust/crap out of the heatsink?

I had a GTO that ran at GTX speeds, and it idled low 30's and loaded low 50's for reference sake.

Many 7900GTX cards (not GTO or the shorter GT versions) are equipped with "defective" Samsung memory, IIRC, that are prone to failure within a few months of usage.

Not sure of the percentage of those cards that failed, but it could be as high as 20% from what I have read on the forums. A bit like Crucial Ballistix 2 GB DDR memory kit (including the Tracer series) that has virtually 100% failure rate within 1 year!
