8800gts driver problem (XP)

I have the 97.92 drivers and the "Adjust GPU settings" is all mucked up, see below:

(Note the 2 ticked radio boxes, greyed out sliders and 0MHz clock speeds)

If I click "Find Optimal", the screen goes black and I have to hard reboot.

Should I try reinstalling the drivers?

I would try a clean install of the drivers, along with DriverCleaner.
