I have a rig I built a few years ago. It's a PhenomII 940 with 8GB of ram and currently an NV 9800GT video card. I've got an HP 24" 1920x1200 monitor. I don't really game that much on it, but I have the desire to get back into it (casually) with BF3. I played the BETA for a bit, and it auto set the details pretty low, and it didn't look very good.

I don't need bleeding edge, or even cutting edge, but what vid card would be suitable for my setup? No need for multiple monitors or 3D or anything like that. I was eyeing the 560Ti due to it's solid reputation/value/performance... but is this card overkill for my processor/rig as it is?

Thanks in advance!

$150.00 is probably reasonable. Think 1920x1200 (you put 1080) would be much difficulty for it?

In all reality try to score a $100 gtx 460 with the 1gb ram and you should be golden. I think the560 ti /non ti are great but prob overkill. Maybe a 5850 /5870/6850/70 if you can find them cheaper than the 100$ as well.

1920x1200 is no problem for that card, it's when you get up at 2560 x 1440 you'll start having problem with the card not being fast enough or running out of memory.
Very nice card at a very nice price.

NewEgg has the GTX 550 on sale for like $130 at the moment. That is more than enough card [since you have gone so long with that 9800GT].

+2 for the HD6870. It's been hovering around $140 for a bit now and simply is the best bang-for-your-buck. You won't be disappointed.
