Hi guys,

I'm in the process of building a decent rig for myself and would like some advice on which path to go. For a lil' background of my rig, I'm currently using a P4 2.53Ghz with a GeForce 4200 Ti. I use my computer for internet browsing, dvd burning, picture editing, and home video editing 80% of the time. I play games like Age of Empires and Rome. I think now is the time to upgrade and kinda confuse on which path to go.

Which path should I go?

1) buy a faster CPU (conroe 6600/AMD 5000+ X2) and a decent card (7900GT)
2) buy a decent CPU (conroe 6300/AMD 3800+ X2) and a next to high end card (7900GTX)

I'll be using a Dell 2407 by the way. I don't play FPS games also.

Thanks

You mentioned that 80% of time includes video and picture editing, what are you planning for hard drive(s) and memory?

Well, i have a 300GB Seagate and 2G of Corsair VS for now.

Which would i appreciate more? Im more leaning to the the 2nd option cause i don't think im gonna be using that much of a CPU power and since im gonna be using a larger LCD so i need a higher end card.
