abit max2 doesnt shut down???

Alrighty... I got a computer to fix from my dad's friend (who doesn't leave it alone..) well when I plugged in the plug the computer just starts up. Then when it loads to windows xp home and when I shut it down the computer stays on..

I tryed removing all the hardware. The USB card, 56k modem, video card. I reinstalled the bios and windows xp

The power button and reset button works...

anyone have any ideas....
 
when you shut it down the computer stays on, do you mean it reboots or just the moniter goes off and the fans keep spinning, imo it sounds like a short in the power button, that keeps it always on, try unplugging the power button from the MB and using a screwdriver to short it and boot,.
