does this look good?
any suggestions?

Which parts are you reusing?

Which monitor/resoultion are you using?

A few (recommened) changes to your list...

- Get the EP43-DS3L instead of the EP45-DS3L. The EP43 board is only missing the second Gigabit port.
- Omit the Arctic Silver 5 -- the TIM that comes with the HDT-S1283 is good enough -- and pick up the ACK-I7751 retention bracket that makes mounting the CPU cooler easier.
- Get the 4GB DDR2 800 kit instead. The Q6600, under air cooling, maxes out at around 3.6GHz (though YMMV), which can easily be reached using DDR2 800 RAM.

thanks for the suggestions, i will be using my 21" samsung syncmaster 1100DF, i try to always use 1600x1200 in everything i do.

i also will be keeping my audigy 2zs, 2 SATA II HDD (500 gigs and 360 gigs), and my geforce 8800gts, as well as my powersupply, i cant really remember how much watts but its got enough.

-can you elaborate a bit more on the difference between the gigabyte?
-for 6 more $ i rather get the higher memory ram just for the hell of it =p
-i always used AS5, you really think that the stuff that is provided is at the same quality?, i will as well pick up the bracket thanks!

thanks for the help!

search for a used Q6600, u can get them for cheap :). buy mine for $175? :D

as well as my powersupply, i cant really remember how much watts but its got enough.

Find out what PSU you have. Whenever I see someone say the above, 9 tines out of 10, they had a shitty PSU. So please find out what PSU you have.

Well Tiraides already explained the one major difference between them. The other, relatively minor, difference is that the EP45 supports up to 16GB of RAM whereas the EP43 supports up to 8GB of RAM. The only difference between the P43 and P45 chipset is that the P45 chipset can support Crossfire whereas the P43 cannot. However, since the Ep45 doesn't have a second PCI-E port for Crossfire, that "advantage" is moot.

so why does ur link go to a 190 buck one? :p :D ;)

$175 + $14 = $189 (okay, so he drop-rounded to $189 instead of rounding up to $190).

Anyhow, yeah go for the P43 over the P45. The major features that a P45 would offer aren't available on the board you chose.

Also, get TX-2 or MX-2 thermal paste. They perform just as well or better than AS5, and don't have to cure first.

Another thing you might consider getting is the bolt-down kit for that Xigmatech.

Finally, unless you're planning on doing some major overclocking (above 3.6GHz) Then this ram is just as good and $6 cheaper.
