Acer AS5672WLMi w/ intel core duo 1.66ghz 2GB RAM 120GD HD radeon x1400

Too expensive from my point of view, because video card is Hypermemory video card, which means it will use your computer memory. In this case it will use 64MB, if it is 128MB configured in BIOS, but you can configure upto 384MB for video card.

If you can't spare 64MB from 2GB...man, you have issues. Good find OP.

Well you should know that VISTA is going to need more than 2GB memory for gaming.

VISTA

This is just propaganda. The article doesn't take into account the fact that DX10 unloads the GUI when it initializes. The result is that Vista requires even less RAM than XP because you don't have the pesky desktop running in the background when you don't need it.

the problem is not the sharing of the Memory itself, but rather that the VC shares the memory bandwidth with the CPU. You take a bottleneck and make it a little tighter by requiring more devices to use it.

Can I borrow the crystal ball?

Wasn't Vista pushed back to next year?

Only the boxed version. The Corporate/OEM versions will still be available in November if everything stays on track.
