Have an older computer (not my sig) that has
a badaxe Intel motherboard. Seems almost any
mouse I plug into it either does not work, or they
work for a time. If I unplug and plug it in again
it works again. Plugged in a Deathadder 2013 and it
won't work at all. An old MS Intellimouse works fine,
but quits every now and again..
Tried a keyboard, but the problem
does not seem to happen. Switched keyboard & mouse ports
and I don't see the same issue.

So, I suspect a power issue or a bad USB port.
Uses Windows 7 Home Premium, computer is
about 7 years old home built. Wife uses it for surfing
no OC, basic HDD drives, Core 2 Duo, nothing special.
Works fine otherwise, no issues.

What do you recommend to test the port for either
software of hardware issues?

If its bad don't want to sink a lot of money into it.
Thanks for your help!

For the OS issue, try running an Ubunutu LiveCD and see if the USB devices work fine.
