I think ATI would be more than happy to sell bridged AGP versions for an extra $50 like with the x800 XL AGP. The x800 XL AGP's MSRP is $50 higher than PCI-E version, likewise for the vanilla x800 ($199 PCI-E vs $249 AGP).ThomasE66 said:They would be silly not to support AGP for at least another year.

How long both ATI and NVIDIA sell AGP cards in the future will depend on how many people buy it, not silliness.

There was an article on the Inq last year stating that Nvidia's bridge chip implementation adds something like 5 bucks manufacturing cost to a board. Don't see why ATI couldn't do about as well - even if they can only do half as well, that's still only 10 bucks.pxc said:I think ATI would be more than happy to sell bridged AGP versions for an extra $50 like with the x800 XL AGP. It depends on the NVIDIA chip. For example, the NV45 has a bridge on the same package as the chip. That would be the cheapest way.Lazier_Said said:There was an article on the Inq last year stating that Nvidia's bridge chip implementation adds something like 5 bucks manufacturing cost to a board. give it a break this game will have some incredible AI simulateling real life schedules and goals theyed like to acheive, for 1000NPC's heres a quote i find funnyHate_Bot said:The enviorments always look great in thos games, but as always the models don't have the same level of amazingness
more in this article http://pc.gamespy.com/pc/the-elder-scrolls-iv-oblivion/558955p4.htmlIn fact, one of the interesting problems that the team has had to face came about precisely because the AI is so good. According to Howard, the AI has caused guards to decide to eat and go hunting deer, only to get themselves arrested for attacking something. When they fight back against the arresting guard, the other guards see a fight and try to join in. In not too much time, every guard in the town was involved in the scuffle, which left the rest of the town open to thievery by other NPCs, resulting in empty stores. Much of the team's current effort is going into putting sensible governors on the AI's behavior to avoid situations like empty stores that would result in situations that wouldn't be fun for the player.
