Hi all,

Looking for some advice. I am setting up a new server with Exchange 2010. Its a fresh build so no migration data or anything.
I know MS wants to drop public folders very soon which I use a lot for Mail Enabled folders for departments. Does anyone have an alternative to this? I have sen Sharepoint mentioned all over the place but Its not a function of Sharepoint.

So whats your alternative?

Thanks
G

I haven't found a good replacement yet, which is probably the reason MS hasn't stopped using them yet although they do want to.

Sharepoint is for document collaboration, not a replacement for public folders. I say use them while they are still around

Microsoft has been talking about removing public folders for years and trying to push SharePoint as the replacement.

Mail enabled folders in SharePoint are mail enabled document libraries.
