Is that bad? Or is that right where it should be? SOMETIMES my system will just shut down, but that's once out of every 4 months probably.

50 c is fine. Thats practically icy if you're under full load and hitting 50c.

What are your ambient temps like?

Mines 45/47 idle (day/night) and 51 load (both day/night).

Eventhough mine is in a thight case (Lian-Li PC-50) it could be lower, i prolly put on too little AS5 when i attached HS (yes, it was a VERY thin layer, just to try it out, gonna redo it sometime :p )

Mine runs at 44c idle 52 load, i think your fine under about 58c under a load like running prime95.

Assuming you're talking about the system in your sig, it's completely irrelevant becuase you have a XP-M and he has a regular one. If I'm mistaken, forgive me.

If your computer runs alright, then I wouldn't worry about the temp. Most motherboards have shut down sensors for if things get out of hand temperature wise. If you're worried about it, remount the heatsink with some good thermal paste and see if you can get better airflow going.
