How does the AMD Fx-62 stack up to newer AMD processors like the +6000?

FX= unlocked multiplier
X-2= locked multiplier

The FX-62 is clocked at 2.8GHz per core with 1MB L2 each, has an unlocked multiplier, and has a TDP of 125W.

The X2 6000+ is clocked at 3GHz per core with 1MB L2 each, has a locked multiplier, and has a TDP of either 89W or 125W depending on the stepping you get.

Both use socket AM2 and are manufactured on AMD's 90nm SOI process.

Thanks. This helps me quite abit. Sounds like the FX will be easier to OC with the right cooling and stuff.

I'd buy whichever was cheaper. OCs are never guaranteed, even on an FX.
