AMD X2 3600 $54 Shipped

probably because it's been posted in the newegg thread... all you did was take it and add the paypal -5 off...

Posts like this makes me wonder why I still hang on to the socket 754 system... :(

posts like this make me wonder why im still using a pent 4 3.0 with hyperthreading....

gah.

Posts like this make me wonder why amd doesn't release these cpus on 939 and have the same pricing, Id buy one if they did but I'm not going to upgrade my whole system to buy one.

Posts like these make me wonder how low prices can go, X2 3600+ for $54, 2 gig of ram for $65, when are the 500 giggers going to hit $50?

Posts like these make me wonder why are your posts so off topic?

Will a 939 hsf fit am2?

These are dropping quick.

Care to explain, or link me to an explanation for the -$5 paypal deal?

Paypal is offering $5 rebate if you spend $20 or more. There is another thread going on in HOT Deals. Make no mistake the only people will get rebates this who have recieved mail from paypal.

For new paypal customers there is already $10 deal going on i think, which makes it even hotter. $50 shipped. :D

The cheapest dual-core Intel chip is the P-D 805, which is only $0.99 more than this X2 3600+. So it's close price-wise.

805D is a hunk of junk.

And I never get stuff from PP. How do you sign on?

Posts like these make me wonder why not pay twice as much for an E4300 and overclock it near 100% and get quadruple the performance of the AMD chip.

Stop day dreaming? Any benchmark to back that up?

Overclock this to 3.1 and you have e6600 for $54

Can someone recommend a good motherboard and ram for this processor? I would like overclock a little as well.

And overclock the E6600 to 3.5 and you have something completely different. Overclock an E4300, same story. Why do people use overclocking to make a one-sided argument?

Quadruple? You're delusional.

Back on topic...does anyone know if the temp sensors on these are rite? Cuz I have mine at 2.7GHZ and I'm stress testing (Orthos blend) and core temp 0.95 says core 0 is at 28C and core 1 is at 26C. Ive been stress testing for about 12 minutes now...Are these unbelievably cool (please!:p ) or do they have retarded temp sensors?

I just paid $78 for mine and couldn't be happier, currently running very stable at 3023mhz (318*9.5) @ 1.375V, temps hit about 50c at full stress load, idle at 39c-40c(@1.375v) using an artic cooling freezer... I still haven't found the ceiling for this and its already at a 60% increase

post all your info in the 60nm database in the AMD forums :)

I bought one when it was at $79, and I thought that was an amazing deal. I love this processor. Stock with a Scythe Ninja and two 120mm fans on the heatsink, this thing idles at 27 degrees when the room is 22 degrees. Outstanding.

I want to buy more of these chips.

Sounds good. What motherboard are you using?

I got it when it was 95! :) I didn't know you can call newegg within a week to adjust the price difference... oh wells. I'm still happy.

Finally i could not resist and bought 2 last night with 690G chipset motherboard from Foxconn for $67. I don;t know how much motherboard will let me overclock, even i could not that will be fine, i am going to run it passive cool.

wait for the pictures. I am going to use it as a server and my main machine with 4GB of RAM :D.

Complete dual core system for less than $200 i cannot imagine. I love you AMD.

hmmm why would you use it in your "main" machine if you have these specs?

Dell Ultra Sharp 24" LCD
EVGA 680i SLI Motherboard
Intel Conroe E6300 @ 3.25 GHZ
4 GIG Crucial Ballistix PC6400 4-4-3-11 (EPP) @ 1116Mhz
Nvidia 8800GTS @ 650/2000
Sweiftech (3 x 3) 120mm Radiators Custom Water Cooling
ATI 650 Pro HDTV Wonder
(2 X 160) 320GB SATAII Hard Drive RAID 0
(2 X 18X) Dual Layer DVD Writers

Because i just SOLD all my setup today :D

Newegg's email yesterday boasts an AM2 4400+ X2 for $110 shipped.
I don't see a difference between the two, other than clock speed. Clocking a 3600+ to 2.3 GHz should result in the exact same thing, but for $50 less.

And what about overclocking the 4400+? ;)
