hi all,

looking at getting an XMD64 X2 and 7800GT in a few days, and im wondering what are the power requirements for something liek that? I already have an Antec 500W PSU, would that be enough for comfort and a little overclocking? only other things that would be i the system would be a dvd burner and hard drive

thanks

should be just fine. sli might cause some problems but that psu should have no issues.

nVidia recommends +12V@26A for non-SLI & +12V@34A for SLI.
If it is the new SmartPower II 500W, then you are good to go for non-SLI. ;)

awesome thanks for the input -- yeah im not going to be going SLI, i have an RX8 to save for :p

Based on nVidia's own specs, the Smartpower 2.0 500W is good to go for SLI as well. +12V@36A (17A+19A). So why do you insist on saying otherwise?

It is NOT a combined +12V@36A!, READ THE SPECS!

You do NOT get the max combined amperage,
just by adding the two rails together, except in the very best of PSU's.
