im buying an aria chassi and i was wondering if anybody tried removing the cardreader.
and then take a pair of 40mm or 50 mm fans and attach on the inside?
i know there should be enough width for a pair of 50 mm... but would there be enough height?
i want to avoid cutting the the plates on the case if i can.
and i dont use a card reader anyways.

ill probably remove it even if i cant put fans i there. and put a dust filter on the inside or something.

btw. the whole system will be like this:
Antec Aria
Asus p5gd1-vm motherboard
Intel p4 3.0 ghz socket 775
Zalman ZM-7000B-ALCU
1024 mb pc3200 kingston value
Geforce 6600 256mb [not gt]
Maxtor 200 gb sata
Nec nd-3500a
Acer tft 17" AL1721hs
+ some small stuff
=should be about 1811$

The card reader comes right out, about 45 seconds of time involved. The question is why? Doing that will leave ugly holes to deal with. I found that you can put two 80mm fans, one on each side of the front lower case sides, add no noise and get big time airflow. I see a few others here have done that mod as well.

A bit of care with the case side material, I used a 3” hole saw and drill press and it came out ultra clean. A pair of brushed aluminum grills and it looks factory. I used Antec case fans for their low noise factor.

This simple mod dropped my case temps and CPU temps quite a bit. As this case is my DVD, CD, TVVCR unit it sits on my desk and quiet was a must. It’s quiet.

Luck
