Any nForce4 board with a usable x4 or x8 PCIe slot?

Hey all,

I can find a bunch of boards that have x4 and x16 connectors, but they usually run at x1 or x2. I want as much bandwidth as possible for an x8 RAID card. Is there any nForce4 board with a true (open-ended) x4 or x8 PCIe slot?

Thanks,
BoB

If you go with a 940 opteron board using nforce pro (like this foxconn one) you get a true 4x slot, as well as a 16/8x slot that can actually be used with a non-video card. If you've got a ridiculous pci-e raid controller an opteron might be the best choice anyway.

well that 4x slot isn't open-ended, but the second 16x slot on this chipset can take a non-video card, unlike nforce4 sli. so that would work fine.

You can always add a Firewire card...

Yeah, I thought of that, too. So, last night I pulled down the A8N-E manual. The x4 slot only runs at x2. It's that way on most boards. :(

Thanks,
BoB
