Curious if anyone has built multiple Q6600 rigs - what is the WORST OC you've seen from a G0 stepping Q6600? Water cooled? Air cooled? Assuming if you've built multiple and tried OC then you had good cooling/power/etc in all of them.

i've seen a Q6600 G0 cpu that wouldn't do past 2,7GHz, i raised the voltages and nothing, it had a Thermalright 120 extreme, and a Asus P5W DH Deluxe mobo. Funny thing is it could go up to 2,7GHz with the lowest available voltage that the mobo could give me.

I have a G0 that will only do 2.975 at any voltage, on two separate mobos.

2 G0 builds. both both easily hit 3.2Ghz with little votage changes.
took some tweaking but i got one to 3.6 on water and the other is at 3.4 on air.

2 G0 Builds one was able to hit 3.2 ghz w/ little volt changes. The other one I have at 3.0 and I didn't decide to push any further stock voltages. Both using air

I think if you cannot get 3.2G at reasonable volts and temp with an aftermarket cooler (like freezer pro), then you can count yourself unlucky.

I have built dozens of systems around the Q6600 and all of them would do at least 3Ghz.Worst was about 3.1 max oc.Best around 3.8Ghz,this past weekend,VID on the last chip
I built up in a system,was 1.200 vcore..

I slapped a Thermalright Ultima 90 with AS5 and a Scythe 92mm 1600rpm fan in a P182.

glad to hear all these stories...now if I can just get home sometime in the next few weeks I can build mine!

I've only had this one G0 Q6600 but for what its worth, I was able to get it up to 3.8ghz on air but knew it was probably unstable without the use of extreme cooling.

3.6ghz was completely stable on air but my vcore was set at 1.485v.
It's currently running at 3.5ghz (500 FSB x 7) @ 1.450v in the bios, 1.392v in CPU-Z.

2 G0 stepping q6600's at 2.8Ghz and 1.25v (24/7 folding@home machines) with stock coolers. 1 B3 q6600 at 3.2Ghz 8x400 1.375v with Tuniq Tower and also a 24/7 folder.

I'm pretty sure I could take the g0 cpu's to 3.2Ghz without much trouble, but since they are part of my folding farm I prefer the lower voltage and stock hsf. The B3 is at it's max stable oc and is also my daily use computer.

what are your temps at that speed?
