I've seen some stuff about hitachi finally making the bits on hard drives perpenticular to enable normal drives to hold like 10x its current capacity ( http://www.geekzone.co.nz/content.asp?contentid=4319 )... this'll be sweet when it happens, but i'm just wondering, anyone remember the Proto Drive? The upgradable multi-terabyte hard drives that have been 'coming out' for like 2 years now? anyone hear any more from these guys? site here: http://protoscience.com/

Looking at there pictures it seems to be a very badly photoshopped maxtor drive.

I am guessing this is one of those scams trying to raise venture capital only to fail when no product is delivered kinda like the phantom gaming console.

Sounds like vaporware to me.

Not only does it sound like vaporware, but it sounds like total crap!

This development is the most advanced hard drive technology in the world. You get multi-Terabyte storage capacities and data throughputs approaching a Gigabyte per second. We do this through an advanced data transformation methodology and a special dual-processor data accelerator which pumps data to the drive at almost a GB per second.
