Also what the best option (in your opinion) fora skyline built? I haven't built a PC in years and I feel like all MB manufacturers got their shit together because there are way too many options.

I'm really looking for now with at least 2 M.2 drive slots and overclock friendly. No entry level nonsense.

Yes to Gigabyte, though Skylake isn't recommended because OSX doesn't fully support it out of the box yet. (This wouldn't stop me from assembling a Skylake build, just be aware you'll have to do more tweaking in the short-term.)

Other things to avoid would be X99 (possible only with significant effort) and gamer boards with third-party add-on chipsets (Intel works; some random 'gamer' NIC, probably not.)

Jesus I butchered that topic title. lol no sleep!

thanks for the feedback ;)

I set up a hackintosh back in the Intel SB days. One of the key items was to disable all the "features" on my motherboard that I didn't need. Bluetooth - disabled, eSATA - disabled, USB3 - disabled and it made the hackintosh easier to set up.

...and then Windows 8 came out which caused me to buy a Mac in protest...
