Are timings as important to the A64 as the were to the AXP?

I'm using 512MB BH-5 ram now, and I'm thinking I need more. I'll be getting an Athlon64, and I want to know if it's as deeply pipelined as the Pentium4. With a P4, it's not so much timings as speed of the FSB that matters, but I've found that with an AthlonXP, it's timings over speed. Which is it to the Athlon64 939 stuff? Ram recommendations anyone?

The pipeline is deep than that of the the AXP but nowhere near as long as the P4. I have 2-2-2-5 timings and get great performance out of it. But I find that the A64 likes a happy medium of good timings and speed. Its not one extreme or the other.

I can't overclock much because my board doesn't have PCI/AGP locks, so I have it at stock right now. Not getting much of an increase for the small bump in FSB.

With those BH-5 chips you should be able to relax the timings and find a good medium between speed and timings!
