According to Asus (http://ca.asus.com/products.aspx?l1=3&l2=11&l3=307&l4=0&model=1178&modelmenu=1) the motherboard is compatible with the 45nm processors, via a BIOS update.
There are several threads with some great OC with this board, the chip works great on it (from waht i can read) but I still have no idea if the chip will boot before a BIOS upgrade (im guessing no, but was worth checking) i have a E6600 and a E8400 so Im good (and will post my findings when i get that far) but was hopeing somebody would have tried before me.
