Yes, I did it for one of my cases. What I did was purchase one of these. I then used a jeweler's screwdriver to release each pin from it's respective plug, and insert it into the new connector. Easy to remove and replace.
 
I'm not sure the Asus one will work on the eVGA mobo... but just check the manuals to find out.

This is how I removed the pins from their original header connectors using a pin.

I'd like to find the detachable parts (@ digikey) Lian-Li uses for their front panel header connectors, but /me lazy. If anyone knows the part numbers, please let me know ;)
