So I put this together yesterday. Had some wicked laggy mouse issues (USB driver) and lower frames then my 2700k it replaced initially which required all the power state junk to be disabled to behave as expected. Anyways I have this horrible kind of pulsating on and off what sounds like coil whine. Some posts mentioned maybe its the fans even though I didn't change them so I changed the PWM profile and its still doing it. Ideas!? Its almost dog whistle annoying! :(
 
Disable all fans. Make sure you're positive it's coil whine and try to locate where it is coming from. It might not be the mobo.
 
I'll try that but all the parts from the 2700k carried over except the mobo, cpu and DDR4. Thanks.
