How do you entertain yourself when all you have is an old Athlon 64 3000+ and a bunch of liquid Nitrogen laying around? Go for a 100% overclock.

We overclock a golden oldie, the Athlon 3000+ was a favorite among hardware enthusiasts back in May 2005, now-a-days its Core 2 Duo, but with the help of some Dry Ice we can extract a bit more power from this AMD CPU. Read on to find out if we reach our 100% overclocking goal.

Interesting. But if you read the article he mentions that he used dry ice, not LN2

OMG N00b he dint use nitrogin he used dry ice lol.

(To counter other half of the spectrum that might try to point this out.) :D

That's one hell of an OC. I'm just happy that my Athlon 64 X2 3600 (1.9GHz) made 2.8GHz, runs stable in an 8 hour Prime95 test (2 instances), and does it with a $40 GeForce 6100 mobo, $10 Arctic Cooling Alpine 7 heatsink, and does it at stock voltage.

2.8GHz isn't all that fast

I had my Venice 3400+ (same chip, just a higher multiplier) at 2.7GHz on AIR

Very cool. Tough I can manage 2.8 Air on my 3200+. Though the new RAM I bought didnt let me kept that :(

read the last page, he got 2826 on air and 3603 on DI. 100% oc is double stock clock
(and kinda hard on any amd chip other than a 1.5v xp1700)
