Ballistix DDR2-800 $60 After $45 Rebate @ Newegg.com

can anyone tell me how crucials rebates/warranty works?

some people complain about their warranty and lifetime return policy...
 
I just ordered a second set. I have one set I got back in September for the hot price of $200.
 
I received the kit. They came in a brown box (unlike the buy.com ones which came in a plastic packaging). There is a UPC code on the box, and there are also UPC codes on the foils wrapping the modules. Which UPC code do I send in?
 
If it was like the previous deals, you send in the UPC from the foil packages. To be safe this time, I'm sending all of them.
 
I'm gonna try and call them tomorrow and ask them which UPC to send in. Didn't even notice there were UPC codes on the anti-static wraps.

And since both UPC's on the anti-static bags are the same, do we still need to use both or only one? From past experience, I remember only sending the UPC on the box, since they usually want you to stick it on the rebate form where it has the sample UPC. Although, I never dealt with Crucial before regarding rebates.

Also ordered them today. Trying to pick out a motherboard to go along with the July 22nd price drops.

Make sure you sign up for their newsletter and wait 24 hours. Without a subscription to their news letter you cannot use the promo codes.

I sent the UPC from the box when i sent my rebate for the Ballistix 8500. My rebate tracking shows my rebate is approved and in process.
 
Hmm, I ordered this morning and the $10 off code worked, but now when I tried to put the code in again on a different e-mail, it no longer works, just says: Although you've entered a valid promo code, your order does not currently meet the code's usage criteria.

Does this mean that the deal is over? :(


If it is, oh well, at least I got a pair for the $60 after MIR price.

I did the same for my original 2 GB kit, and was denied. In the end, I faxed a copy of my two foil bags that the individual sticks came in, and they approved the rebate.

This time, I'll send all three, but I'll be sure to make a copy of them for myself, just in case.
 
Just spoke to Crucial live chat, and I was told to use the UPC from the box for the rebate.
 
I'm in for a set of these...and while the coupon code didn't work for me, I went to NewEgg's live chat, and they credited me the ten bucks. It took me all of five minutes.

Kudos to NewEgg's customer service. :)
 
just got in the mail today. yea it came in a brown box was kinda hoping for some solid plastic packaging but it looks good otherwise. Gonna test it out in my GF's AM2 rig since I'm still gonna be rocking a 939 until i get the rest of my parts later on. I won't have any problems just putting it in there right?

i'm trying to call them to get the coupon code to work... as its been almost 20 hours since I applied for newsletter and it isn't working... but I get their holiday message.. and the strange part is that it tells me to "have merry christmas and a happy new year" ... I'm totally serious... call them.. its automated. I suppose it could tell me worse things...

Mine came today. Crucial must have changed the heat spreader design, because they look different than my existing ones.

Hi, I'm new to these forums, so go easy on me =)

I ordered these on the night of July 5th, and printed out the rebate form. It said that the rebate ends on the 5th ( I got so lucky), but as long as I bought it before the end of July 5th, I still qualify for the rebate right? My sticks are coming tomorrow! (girlish squeal)

Oh yeah...the coupon did not work for me, and I have been subscribed to the newsletter for about five months now. Oh well. In total after the rebate, its about $75 for me, which is still really not that bad.

I got it in the last minute too!
Just go onto the NewEgg Chat support thingy. They usually hook you up if you are nice.

I just got them in. Paired them with my PC2-8500 Sticks and ran them at [email protected] 5-5-5-15 and it booted and passed Memtest for about an hour (will try a lengthy test later). Rebooted and it failed to boot. Underclocked my CPU to 2800mhz and have the ram running at 1050 and it seems to be stable. I will tinker with it later and post results.
