Thanks to the info and reccomentation received in this forum, after evaluating a lot of panel tecnologies and models, I came to the conclusion to buy a 23->24" sRGB IPS Monitor to work mainly at my websites...

The NEC lcd2490wuxi seems to be the best solution so if I'll be able to find 1 around the web for a reasonable price I'll surely buy it, but due to the diffuculties in retieving it, because I live in Italy, I think it's better for me to look at other similar IPS models.

Someone suggested me to look at the Hazro hz24w, available here in Europe, because it should use the S-IPS version of the NEC 2490 panel (H-IPS with polarizer). I had a look around and I was really happy due to positive comments and low price till I've found this review . According to this review the Hazro hz24w color reproduction is only average: Viewsonic vx2435wm and Samsung SM245B performs better... How is it possible?

I made a search using the panel model and I discovered a couple 23" displays using a similar panel:

1) Apple 23" Cinema Display (M9178-Alu) 14ms 23"WS LG.Philips S-IPS (LM230WU3)
2) Apple 23" (M9178) 16ms 23"WS LG.Philips S-IPS (LM230WU2)
3) Hazro HZ23W 10ms G2G 23"WS LG.Philips S-IPS (LM230WU3)

The Apple 23" Cinema Display (M9178-Alu) seems to use a couple years old panel, the same of the Harzo 23"... Is this any good? The only problem I've read about, in forum, was the lack on OSD settings due to the fact that mac users can set the monitor directly thru the OS, speaking of this do you think it's possible to force it to use a icm sRGB profile under windows or do you have to keep it as it is?

Apple 23" has SWOP(Specifications Web Offset Publications certification) so it should be perfect for me, probably a lil worse than nec but I think better than hazro 24" (due to the review results).

I've also found these monitors equipped with an older version of the same panel:

BenQ FP231W (widescreen) has a 23 inch 16 ms S-IPS (LG.Philips LM230W02) panel.
HP L2335 (Widescreen) has a 23 inch 16 ms S-IPS (LG.Philips LM230W02) panel.
LG L2300B (widescreen) has a 23 inch 16 ms S-IPS (LG.Philips LM230W02) panel.
LG L2300C (widescreen) has a 23 inch 16 ms S-IPS (LG.Philips LM230W02) panel.
Philips 230W5BS (Widescreen) has a 23 inch 16 ms S-IPS (LG.Philips LM230W02) panel.
Sony SDM-P234 (Widescreen) has a 23 inch 16 ms S-IPS (LG.Philips LM230W02) panel.
Sony SDM-P234B (Widescreen) has a 23 inch 16 ms S-IPS (LG.Philips LM230W02) panel.
ViewSonic VP231wb (Widescreen) has a 23 inch 16 ms S-IPS (LG.Philips LM230W02) panel.

Are there good monitors, still available to be purchased, in this list?

Let me know which of these monitors would you suggest me if I'm not able to retrieve a Nec 2490.

Have you considered the Hazro HZ24W? It uses the same 24" H-IPS panel as the LCD2490WUXi. It even has the A-TW polorizer, although it does not feature SpectraView II.

Yep, as I wrote I considered it but, according to the review (see link above) its color reproduction seems to be only average... (it's very strange considering the panel quality).
Are you sure it has the A-TW polarizer because I strongly doubt it: I've heard rumors about a new release with polarizer, hdcp support and a calibration kit but as far as I know there's nothing official.

Based on what I have read on the [H]ard|Forum, I am quite sure it has the polorizer.

It is not possible.
According to this review Hazro has dE94 about 1.0 which is good.
You can judge about color reproduction after calibration only.

2435 or 245 may or may not have dE94 similar to Hazro. It does not matter.
The probe measures sample colors in the center of the screen. It does not say anything about colorshift on 2435 or vertical viewing angles problem on 245.
Low dE94 is important but you have to take into account the differences in panel technologies.
So 2435 or 245 perform worse whatever dE they have.

Are you just listing the history of LCD monitors here or this is a real offer?
The great monitor of the past of 23" IPS is Sony SDM-P234 --- BTW.

As you have been told already, if you are not able to buy 24" IPS monitor, the last option will be Apple 23" - latest version, not oldest.
Otherwise you go to 4:3 1600x1200 monitor. The best recommendation there is the NEC 2190UXi.

Wow, that Hazro HZ23W seems rather slick. How is the input lag on it? The input lag seems to differ between models... so I'd like to hope that the input lag is better than the 24 inch version...

Thank you Albovin for these info, I wrote to Hazro to know something about the rumors regarding the distribution of a new panel with Polarizer and HDCP support... In the meanwhile I also found a couple deals in the USA regarding nec lcd2490 at 1150USD shipped home (taxes and custom duties excluded), so I'm actually thinking in getting the nec (very HQ but higher price, outside europe(custom duties, shipment and warranty)) or the Hazro 24"(HQ, low price, here in europe, BUT no hdcp and maybe no A-TW Polarizer).

I didn't find any review about the Hazro 23" but it uses a "10ms G2G LG LM230WU3" panel so it should be faster than all the others 23" sRGB IPS monitors (the others have 14-16ms G2G).
Hazro 24" uses a 5ms G2G panel so, due to this, it's supposed to be faster than Hazro 23". As far as I know about input lag, the 24" should have an avg 30-35ms lag (2 frames) so it's for sure suitable for all games except hardcore FPS, no idea about 23".
