Thanks to the info and reccomentation received in this forum, after evaluating a lot of panel tecnologies and models, I came to the conclusion to buy a 23->24" sRGB IPS Monitor to work mainly at my websites...
The NEC lcd2490wuxi seems to be the best solution so if I'll be able to find 1 around the web for a reasonable price I'll surely buy it, but due to the diffuculties in retieving it, because I live in Italy, I think it's better for me to look at other similar IPS models.
Someone suggested me to look at the Hazro hz24w, available here in Europe, because it should use the S-IPS version of the NEC 2490 panel (H-IPS with polarizer). I had a look around and I was really happy due to positive comments and low price till I've found this review . According to this review the Hazro hz24w color reproduction is only average: Viewsonic vx2435wm and Samsung SM245B performs better... How is it possible?
I made a search using the panel model and I discovered a couple 23" displays using a similar panel:
1) Apple 23" Cinema Display (M9178-Alu) 14ms 23"WS LG.Philips S-IPS (LM230WU3)
2) Apple 23" (M9178) 16ms 23"WS LG.Philips S-IPS (LM230WU2)
3) Hazro HZ23W 10ms G2G 23"WS LG.Philips S-IPS (LM230WU3)
The Apple 23" Cinema Display (M9178-Alu) seems to use a couple years old panel, the same of the Harzo 23"... Is this any good? The only problem I've read about, in forum, was the lack on OSD settings due to the fact that mac users can set the monitor directly thru the OS, speaking of this do you think it's possible to force it to use a icm sRGB profile under windows or do you have to keep it as it is?
Apple 23" has SWOP(Specifications Web Offset Publications certification) so it should be perfect for me, probably a lil worse than nec but I think better than hazro 24" (due to the review results).
I've also found these monitors equipped with an older version of the same panel:
BenQ FP231W (widescreen) has a 23 inch 16 ms S-IPS (LG.Philips LM230W02) panel.
HP L2335 (Widescreen) has a 23 inch 16 ms S-IPS (LG.Philips LM230W02) panel.
LG L2300B (widescreen) has a 23 inch 16 ms S-IPS (LG.Philips LM230W02) panel.
LG L2300C (widescreen) has a 23 inch 16 ms S-IPS (LG.Philips LM230W02) panel.
Philips 230W5BS (Widescreen) has a 23 inch 16 ms S-IPS (LG.Philips LM230W02) panel.
Sony SDM-P234 (Widescreen) has a 23 inch 16 ms S-IPS (LG.Philips LM230W02) panel.
Sony SDM-P234B (Widescreen) has a 23 inch 16 ms S-IPS (LG.Philips LM230W02) panel.
ViewSonic VP231wb (Widescreen) has a 23 inch 16 ms S-IPS (LG.Philips LM230W02) panel.
Are there good monitors, still available to be purchased, in this list?
Let me know which of these monitors would you suggest me if I'm not able to retrieve a Nec 2490.
