I REALLY need to upgrade my system!! But now that I decided too, I have to do it within the next couple of days otherwise Ill talk myself out of it :(

So here is my problem. Im looking for the best reliable mobo for a AMD 64 3000 with n force 3. MUST HAVE N-Force 3, dont ask me why, I dont know, I just get these feelings and go with them.

SO Opinions wanted. Mobo must have Nforce 3, and support a amd 64 3000......

The K8N Neo Platinum is a good motherboard but it does have a few quirks like all MBs do.

Here are a few problems I found:
* Frequency of SATA ports (1 & 2) are not locked when overclocking FSB. Ports 3 & 4 seem to be locked.

* AC97 audio quality is garbage - get a decent sound card. I have a Audigy 2 ZS.

Other than that, it's a great motherboard.

OK so I keep reading everyone saying it has problems locking, but WTF does that mean?
Lock = ??? :confused:
Locking =??? :confused:
Obviously Ive been out of this industry for too long :(

Wait a week or so for the MSI Neo 2 Platinum

They gave a few of these away with 3500+ 's at quakecon 2004.

This board fixed all of the issues with the Neo Platinum and is very sweet.

The Chaintech VNF3-250 is the best motherboard I've ever used, it was only $82 at NewEgg. Don't let the price fool you, there is nothing cheap about it!

I can run my 3000+ on it @ 2.4ghz and it is solid as a rock!

Isn't that board socket 939?
