I am looking to sell my XHD3000 30 display and go 3 X Eyefinity with a new ATI 5870. what would be the best monitors to use for this? I NEED a PVA display panel. I will absolutly not use TN displays. I assume 3 x 24" displays make the most sense... Im looking for input on size and actually brand/model recommendations. thanks in advance

There is nothing out yet that has thin enough bezels to make it worth it. Wait for the Samsung super thin bezel computer screens to come out soon.

Look at a normal multi-monitor setup:

Now look at Samsung's new screens:

Heads up.... 5870 can power 2 dvi input monitors only, additional monitors will require DP input.

For exp. 5870 Eyefinity six edition will require 4DP monitors and another 2 can be DVI/HDMI/DP for 6 displays. Having only 2 DP+ sockets (passing SL-DVI through DP port passively)

What is DP? Is that the same as D-sub? I thought those were lower quality inputs, doing something that massive I'd make sure I had HDMI or DVI all around.

on a side note...

Now look at Samsung's new screens:

WOW, what could you possible use a setup like that for? (besides being awesome of course:cool:) seriously, i'm curious.

they're supposedly coming out end of this year in time for the holidays.
gonna be TN most likely
dp = displayport
uses? work/gaming/e-peen

That looks like nothing more than a render of what it might look like. Not to mention who they heck would buy the 6 monitor setup anyway?

Don't obsess over bezels. Instead get good monitors. The sides are for peripheral vision anyway. Next time you are driving your car notice how often you use your side windows. Then look at how think the "bezel" ( A Pillar) is between your windshield an side windows...

Instead of whining about bezels, Adapt. That is what makes us human.

Kyle said that AMD is working on some adapter or something so you can you three DVI.

I am a perv, but I am in love with the Eyefinity tech, and seeing a pretty woman standing next to an Eyefinity setup when I first loaded this page, I thought, wow how would 6 panel porn look :eek: Sorry...

Flight simulators would make good use of the six LCD setup. As for the rest of your worthless "thoughts" on the subject, they made me laugh. Whining about bezels? Ya, as technology moves forward, let's just settle on the number one obvious flaw with multi-screen setups. You may "adapt" and settle for mediocrity, but not others. Hence why Samsung is releasing their new thin bezel LCD's.
