Best program for HT

I'm staying at school over the summer and I like to have a 24 hour play list for my dvds (makes me feel so...not alone).

Obviously it'll be a hassle to put my dvd's in and out of my computer every 90 minutes, so i was wondering what is the best program that'll convert my dvd into the best quality single file it can be.

I played around with mp4 and avi, but I don't know which to chose. If you guys can, can you tell me the best format I should pick for the best quality and a really good program that'll convert my dvd's into those formats.
 
well if you dont mind buying something the fairuse wizard works really nicely for divx


yeah i know autogk can do it also and its free but fair use is one step and it just works...


otherwise i personally use RIPIT4ME you have to have dvd decryptor and dvd shrink installed...

but it can rip just the movie or the whole disk. i then use dvd shrink to make it an iso.

then just mount with damon tools and play with zoom, powerdvd or WMP classic.
